With roots in Mount Airy, Georgia, and branches in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, Gerren Fish has been writing and performing original Southern indie-folk rock since 1997. Fish’s solo studio LP Can’t Always Recover appeared to acclaim in 2011, drawing comparisons to Elvis Costello, with his anticipated People Things following this year. An artist of the everyday grind, Fish has played venues across the South—from The Nick to Smith’s Olde Bar to the Hawkinsville Opera House—and too many bars, pizza joints, and coffee shops between the Carolinas and Alabama to name. Fish has fronted and played in several bands, including Winston Audio, Taking Lottie Home, Gerren Fish and The Electric Eels, and Aardvark Park.
